How Do I Know If My Roofer Is Qualified?
It's hard to know what makes a roofer qualified or 'good' if you've never had your roof worked on before.
Aside from looking for someone who is licensed and has insurance, you want to make sure they know what they're doing. Check their webpage for photos from previous jobs to make sure they actually know how to do the kind of work you want done on your roof.
Don't forget to read reviews on multiple sites. This will give you a sense of the quality of their work and their customer service skills.

How it all began
Building the Nerd Dream Team
RoofSmart was founded 14 years ago by CEO Jim Singleterry after he worked in the gutter guard industry for years and noticing the that 90% of the roofs he came across were done wrong.
We’re talking insufficient attic ventilation, improper flashing, and incorrect shingle installation. You name it, Jim saw it A LOT. After a while, the prevalence of poor roof installation got to Jim. He’d seen enough.
So in 2011, he decided to create a different kind of roofing company with John and Nestor: one that took the time to treat roof installation with the care and acuity that it required and that Greater Seattle homeowners DESERVED. That company was RoofSmart.

You see the pattern? It's all puffery. So many of the 2000+ registered roofing companies in the Seattle market are just smoke and mirrors. They don't own their building, they don't have any real employees. They subcontract anything that's more than a basic roof, and they don't have the expertise to do what you need. So they fake it.
